Slow

Earth Lv 1

Reduces enemy unit speed dramatically. Expert affects all enemies.

How players use it: S-tier opening spell. Expert Slow on turn 1 often wins fights by itself.

Haste

Air Lv 1

Increases one unit's speed. Expert version is a huge tempo swing.

How players use it: Cast on your strongest slow stack to secure first contact.

Town Portal

Earth Lv 4

Teleports your hero to an owned town. Expert expands town choice.

How players use it: Best strategic spell for defense and reinforcement tempo.

Implosion

Earth Lv 5

The highest single-target damage spell in HoMM III.

How players use it: Late-game win condition: deletes key stacks.

Chain Lightning

Air Lv 4

Jumps through up to 4 targets with decreasing damage.

How players use it: Best versus packed armies; avoid friendly fire positioning.

Armageddon

Fire Lv 4

Deals massive damage to every stack (including your own).

How players use it: Build around immunities (e.g., Black Dragons, elementals) for the classic nuke plan.
