Most fights are decided by tempo: who takes the first meaningful hit, who gets to focus-fire, and whether you keep your shooters alive.

⏱️ The classic opening: Slow vs Haste

If you can cast Expert Slow, do it early. It often gives you an extra full round of free damage. If you can’t, Haste on your key stack can create a similar first-contact advantage.

• Body-block: use cheap stacks to prevent melee contact.
• Force bad angles: move so flyers can’t land safely.
• Focus-fire: delete one stack completely instead of “spreading damage”.
